On Thursday October 16, OASE transforms into a lay-down concert full of sound, space and imagination. For this second edition, Olivier Terpstra, Jane Bergkotte, Ghazale Moqanaki and Meshkat Talebi present an immersive audiovisual story, inspired by Olivier’s debut album Tehran Mountains.

Olivier is a Rotterdam-based music producer, composer and live performer. With analog synths, field recordings and dreamlike soundscapes, he fuses techno, ambient and world music into a unique hybrid style. By combining synths with Eastern instruments like the Oud and Tar, he creates a dynamic sound that is both immersive and danceable.

His debut album Tehran Mountains is released this September on Uncloud Editions and will be performed across venues in the Netherlands and abroad. For this lie-down concert, Olivier, Jane, Ghazale and Meshkat translate the album into a spatial live setting. The music flows through a spatial audio system with speakers surrounding the audience, making every spot in the room a unique listening experience.

In line with OASE’s mission, this project builds bridges between cultures and perspectives. This edition focuses on Iran: music, visuals and storytelling intertwine into a performance that moves and connects.

Join us to build this year’s Día de los Muertos altar (ofrenda) together. Drop in any time: host Sergio Cruz will share the stories, meaning and symbolism behind each object on the altar, so you’ll not only help create it, but also learn the roots of this beautiful cultural tradition.

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican celebration of life and remembrance. A time to honour those who’ve passed by welcoming their memory back through food, flowers, music and shared stories. The altar (ofrenda) is at the heart of it all, filled with photos, candles and offerings that keep connections alive across generations.
You’re welcome to bring a framed photo of a loved one who’s passed, to give them a place on the altar. Afterwards, stay for a family meal in OASE’s Kantine. Homemade, warm, and full of flavour.

Save the date: On Saturday 1 November, we’ll celebrate Día de los Muertos at OASE’s Kantine with a Mexican dinner, DJs, a Calaverita (traditional Day of the Dead poem) workshop, and a shared moment by the altar we’ve built together. Mark your calendar, you won’t want to miss it.

After major relief efforts for São Vicente, Rotterdam is once again taking action. The islands of Santo Antão and São Nicolau were affected by the flooding caused by storm Erin. From 17 to 19 October, the benefit action HELP SANTO ANTÃO & SÃO NICOLAU brings together music, dialogue, solidarity, and support. With the TMC Internacional Gala Show at Theater Zuidplein on Sunday 19 October as the finale.
All proceeds will go towards rebuilding projects and direct aid on both islands, including financial donations, in-kind support, and raising awareness of the storm’s impact.

This initiative is organised by DRM, SVTUR, TMC Internacional, Friends of Paúl Foundation, São Nicolau Club, Stg São João Baptista, Consulate General of Cabo Verde in Rotterdam, Theater Zuidplein, and OASE, in coordination with the municipalities of Porto Novo (Santo Antão) and Ribeira Brava/Tarrafal (São Nicolau).

Met de geur van versgemaakte cachupa door gastchef Michel Andrade die door OASE’s Kantine zweeft.

Na de grote hulpacties voor São Vicente komt Rotterdam opnieuw in actie. De eilanden Santo Antão en São Nicolau zijn getroffen door de overstromingen die werden veroorzaakt door storm Erin. Van 17 t/m 19 oktober brengt de benefietactie HELP SANTO ANTÃO & SÃO NICOLAU muziek, dialoog, solidariteit en steun samen. Met als finale de TMC Internacional Gala Show in Theater Zuidplein op zondag 19 oktober.
De opbrengsten gaan naar wederopbouwprojecten en directe hulp op beide eilanden, waaronder financiële donaties, materiële steun en bewustwordingscampagnes over de impact van de storm.

On Sunday October 19, OASE invites sunnysunday for the ultimate weekend closer. What once started as a casual Sunday drink with friends has grown into a full evening of music, creativity and good vibes to wrap up your weekend together.

With The Hague collective Lonny Joco behind the decks, expect a true vinyl-only party – the kind that always hits just right at OASE. There’s plenty of space to dance, sink into our couches for a chat, or just hang at the bar with a refreshing (NOLO) Mimosa or Aperol.

Met het Haagse collectief Lonny Joco achter de decks wordt het een heuse vinyl only party waar wij van OASE altijd erg content van raken. Er is genoeg space om te dansen, op onze bankstellen neer te ploffen en bij te praten of gewoon met een heerlijke (NOLO-)Mimosa of Aperol aan de bar te hangen.

Eind oktober draait wereldwijd om herdenken én vieren. Día de los Muertos, Allerheiligen, Diwali, Samhain: allemaal rituelen die verlies, herinnering en leven met elkaar verweven.

Tijdens Kloofdichters staan we stil bij rouw, liefde en de kracht van herinnering. Spoken word door KELS & Jaimee Brown, een intiem diner van onze chef, host Daniela Jerez en een Mexicaans altaar waar jij een foto of herinnering van een dierbare kunt neerleggen.

Want de dood is onvermijdelijk, maar samenkomen, delen en vieren maakt ons mens.

Over Kloofdichters
Schuif aan bij Kloofdichters, een avond waar lokaal talent met hun woorden kloven dicht en je stof tot nadenken serveert. Dit is geen gewone avond, maar een diner waar je nieuwe verhalen ontdekt en samen geniet van heerlijke gerechten. Elke editie heeft een ander thema. De line-up cureren we samen met Spraakuhloos en Woorden Worden Zinnen.

Bij OASE geloven we dat rituelen een bron zijn van verbinding en zingeving. Ook de vaak vergeten rituelen in de herfstmaanden, waarin verhalen werden gedeeld rond verlies en herinnering. De dood is onvermijdelijk – iedere ziel krijgt er ooit mee te maken. Tegelijkertijd kan de dood ook verbinden: het herdenken van iemand die een rijk leven leidde en een gemeenschap achterliet, brengt mensen dichter bij elkaar en herinnert ons aan de waarde van relaties en samenhorigheid.

Verloop van de avond
Een warm welkom door host Daniela Jerez en de artiesten. De chef vertelt wat er op tafel komt, passend bij het thema. Tussen de gangen door nemen de twee woordkunstenaars het podium.

Dit programma komt tot stand in samenwerking met Spraakuhloos, Woorden Worden Zinnen en Daniela Jerez.
