Science on Tap: Art goes bananas

Yes, this actually happened: a banana duct-taped to a wall. And boom: instant art-world chaos. At this edition of Science on Tap we dive into Comedian (2019) by Maurizio Cattelan: the artwork that costs more than your student loan and went viral faster than your group chat on a messy Friday night.

Manus Groenen (Education Curator at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen) takes you behind the scenes of the world’s most famous piece of fruit. Absurd, brilliant and mildly infuriating in all the right ways.
Why was this such a hype? Who seriously paid money for it? And what does it say about us, about social media, and about an art world that’s basically one big “wait… is this for real?” moment?

Expect a fast, deep dive with a wink. And after this talk you’ll never look at a banana the same way again. Honestly, they might as well start a career.

Then test your art knowledge in a bite-sized quiz. Or just guess your way through it like a legend. From iconic paintings to weird little facts: quick, playful, and open to everyone. Even if the last time you saw a museum was on a school trip.

POSTPONED | The Lonely Cowboy Club

At OASE we believe in creating spaces for meaningful connection and authentic dialogue. That's why we're thrilled to host The Lonely Cowboy Club, a men's circle for those who feel too much and say too little, organized by Brotherflow. We know many men navigate life feeling like they're "riding solo”.

The Lonely Cowboy Club is designed for those who feel deeply but find it hard to articulate; it’s an invitation to speak from the heart, be truly witnessed and gently lay down the weight of doing it all alone. The men’s circle is inspired by heart-sharing traditions and rooted in presence, rituals and real connection. No masks and no pressure as this is not about fixing or pretending, just open sharing.

What to expect:
This is more than just a gathering; it's an experience rooted in connection.

The Heart Circle (1 hour):
We begin by grounding ourselves, followed by an open circle. Here, you can share your story, your thoughts, or your feelings, as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, in a space of complete acceptance and no pressure.

Casual Connection (1-1.5 hours):
After the circle we move to a more relaxed setting at the OASE bar where you can explore deeper conversations and genuine connections.

This event is led by Brotherflow. Their mission is to form a community where softness, strength, and authentic brotherhood can flourish. They bring their expertise in exploring new masculinities, rituals and connections.

Join us at OASE and become part of a growing community that's redefining what it means to connect and be a man today.
