Rotterdam Change Days is an international festival for people who work with change: facilitators, coaches, organisational developers, leaders and community builders. It is not a business conference but a practical, experiential festival where people come together to explore new ways of working with transformation in a way that is human, creative and engaged.

The programme includes keynotes, but is especially built around workshops where participants actively work and learn through experience. These workshops explore themes such as embodied learning, working with emotions, nature as a source of wisdom, art and creativity, leadership, group processes and social transitions. The festival has an open and equal atmosphere: no rows of chairs and slides, but practice, reflection and shared learning.

The Change Days movement began in Berlin (Berlin Change Days) and has since travelled as a community event across the world. In 2025 it comes to the Netherlands for the first time as Rotterdam Change Days, with the theme “At Work in the Ruins.” Keynote speaker Dougald Hine - writer, social thinker and author of ‘At Work in the Ruins’ - will contribute his perspective on working with change in times of social and ecological upheaval. This edition explores what it means to do meaningful work in a world under pressure, where old systems are shaking and organisations are searching for new direction.

That's why we're thrilled to host The Lonely Cowboy Club, a men's circle for those who feel too much and say too little, organized by Brotherflow. We know many men navigate life feeling like they're "riding solo”.

The Lonely Cowboy Club is designed for those who feel deeply but find it hard to articulate; it’s an invitation to speak from the heart, be truly witnessed and gently lay down the weight of doing it all alone. The men’s circle is inspired by heart-sharing traditions and rooted in presence, rituals and real connection. No masks and no pressure as this is not about fixing or pretending, just open sharing.

What to expect:
This is more than just a gathering; it's an experience rooted in connection.

The Heart Circle (1 hour):
We begin by grounding ourselves, followed by an open circle. Here, you can share your story, your thoughts, or your feelings, as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, in a space of complete acceptance and no pressure.

Casual Connection (1-1.5 hours):
After the circle we move to a more relaxed setting at the OASE bar where you can explore deeper conversations and genuine connections.

This event is led by Brotherflow. Their mission is to form a community where softness, strength, and authentic brotherhood can flourish. They bring their expertise in exploring new masculinities, rituals and connections.

Rites of Passage Rotterdam is een nieuw programma van Diaspora Wellhouse, in samenwerking met OASE.
Tijdens deze avond onderzoeken we hoe traditionele overgangsrituelen kunnen bijdragen aan welzijn, identiteit en samenleven in de stad.

Rites of Passage, of overgangsrituelen, zijn culturele tradities die belangrijke levensfasen markeren: van geboorte tot volwassenwording, en van ouderdom tot afscheid. Ze staan symbool voor begeleiding, erkenning en groei. Wereldwijd worden deze rituelen erkend als immaterieel cultureel erfgoed, én ze vormen nog altijd een levend welzijnsmodel binnen vele gemeenschappen. Een model dat ook vandaag de dag inspiratie biedt voor hoe we zorg, opvoeding en samenleven vormgeven.

Over Joan Nunnely
Joan Nunnely is de dochter van Surinaams-Nederlandse ouders met Joodse, Engelse en Afrikaanse roots. Ze groeide op met het geloof dat gelijke kansen de sleutel zijn tot persoonlijke groei en maatschappelijke vooruitgang. Vanuit die overtuiging zet ze zich al haar leven lang in voor mensen die minder kansen krijgen. Gedreven door haar eigen ervaring als iemand die zich door economische tegenslagen heen heeft moeten vechten. Ze is een verbinder: iemand die mensen uit verschillende werelden begrijpt, samenbrengt en aanmoedigt om hun eigen pad te lopen. Naast haar werk als politicus voor D66, waar ze strijdt voor radicale kansengelijkheid, is ze ook sociaal ondernemer en strategisch adviseur. Altijd met dezelfde missie: een Nederland dat eerlijker, warmer en inclusiever is.
